Food Bank Donation
Finally got a call back from the Tillamook Food Bank today and got the $1000 check sent off. They were thrilled to get it. $1000 buys 3600# of food and provides 3000 meals.
Facebook Cable
Talked to the Fishermen’s Cable Committee today and the TDM (facebook) cable will be working offshore starting around July 16-18. They will be working outside 3 miles (about 38fa there) so it shouldn’t affect our fleet too much. I asked them to look into placing buoys on the concrete anchors they will use to anchor the cable. The anchors will be removed after they make the connection. Looking at April 2021 for coming onshore.
Rocky Shores Concerns
Rocky shores is being updated and we need to make sure it doesn’t affect our launching area or our safe haven around haystack. I spoke to a member of the committee today and told him our concerns. Ray is a sitting member on OPAC so we will be kept in the loop.
Heritage Museum
Ray, Dave and I met with the architect and engineer yesterday for a couple hours who are working with us on the museum. Long, slow process but moving forward. We have our zero rise numbers and our wetland mitigation figure. Very complicated so it’s really great that we have professionals as members that are leading the charge. We are waiting for a TLT grant that should really help the project along financially.
Tile Updates
Our first batch of tiles are completed and are loaded for delivery. We are waiting for the TLT grant process to get back running after the COVID break and then if approved we will get 2 more batches which should put us up where we need to be.
Beach Parking
We still believe that the Tillamook County Commissioners will vote on Wednesday to re-open the beach for all dories but nothing is certain until the ink is dry.
